A client who came to me for support with their weight loss journey, was also struggling with a deep sense of body dysphoria. The felt disconnected from Their body, trapped in negative thoughts and feelings about their appearance. Despite their best efforts with eating health and homemade foods, and having an active lifestyle, they was unable to shed the excess weight and often found themselves holding onto it without understanding why.


Through our session, it became clear that their emotional landscape was filled with unresolved feelings—guilt about past choices, shame over their body’s appearance, resentment towards people who had commented on or judged their weight, and a deep sense of anger and fear towards some people who had insecurities about them losing weight. These feelings were not just mental; they were trapped within their body, contributing to the imbalance they felt.


How Emotions Influence Weight and Well-being


Guilt, shame, resentment, anger, stress, and fear are all powerful emotions that can cause energetic blockages in the body. Each of these emotions can manifest in different physical symptoms, including weight retention. Let’s break this down:

The anger and fear that had once clouded their ability to see themselves "thin" were now replaced with a clearer, more empowered mindset for being their healthiest selves.


By releasing these negative energies, they were able to envision a healthier mindset for weight loss—not through punishment or restriction, but through self-love, acceptance, and balanced emotional health. They found it easier to see themselves as whole already but feeling better, not because they had to, but because they wanted to.
